How to Use Siri on iPhone 14

4 minutes, 21 seconds Read

The whole setup, configuration, and use of Siri are covered in this manual for the iPhone 14 range, including hands-free operation.

Numerous actions may be completed by Siri on your iPhone. Be it simple activities like making a reminder for you, setting a timer or an alarm, or complex ones like phoning someone, reading out a message, sending a message, and hanging up calls. As if that weren’t enough, you can use Siri to intercom people or share material from a few applications with one of your contacts.

The list continues. On the iPhone 14 series, all you have to do is ask Siri to complete the tasks for you. However, you must first set up Siri and turn on the “Hey Siri” function before you can start asking Siri to perform tasks for you.

Configure Siri to your Preference

When you set up your iPhone, Siri may be configured. If not, you may still configure it later using the Settings app. From settings, you can modify many other things, including the Siri Voice, how it responds to notifications and incoming calls, your personal information, how Siri speaks, and much more.

The ‘Hey Siri’ function, which enables you to activate Siri merely by saying it, even while your iPhone is locked, is crucial for enabling a totally hands-free experience.

Start by going to Settings from your device’s home screen or app store.

Next, select ‘Siri & Search’ from the list to proceed by tapping.

To enable Siri to activate using your voice, touch on the toggle button located on the “Hey Siri” tile. Additionally, turn on the switch for “Press Side/Home Button for Siri” to invoke it through a button. To set up Siri, you’ll need to speak a few commands; after that, just follow the instructions on your screen. Now, you may either press and hold the side or home button or just speak to activate Siri.

From the Siri settings page, select the ‘Siri Voice’ tab to modify Siri’s voice.

Tap on your selected accent after that. Next, decide which voice’s gender you like.

Navigate to the ‘Siri Responses’ tab from the list of choices to modify Siri’s responses.

Next, choose the “Prefer Spoken Responses” option if you want Siri to always respond when you dictate a command.

Toggle the switch next to the ‘Always Show Siri Captions’ option if you want to view captions for what Siri says. Similar to the ‘Always Show Speech’ option, flip the switch to the ‘On’ position if you always want to view a transcript of your speech.

Tap the ‘Announce notifications’ option to start if you want Siri to read out alerts to you.

Next, choose “Announce Notifications” and then hit the toggle switch.

Once Siri has been set up to your preferences, you can just give orders, and it will obey.

Ask Siri to do things for you

As was previously noted, all you have to do is ask Siri to perform a task, and it will do it correctly. Your only work will be to keep in mind the list of what it can achieve for you.

Saying “Hey Siri, Send this to Contact Name>” will cause Siri to load the information immediately in a message if you want to share something with Siri. In addition, you don’t have to start your queries with “Hey Siri”; instead, you may activate Siri by pressing the side or home button.

Siri will inform you that it can only share screenshots from the requested material and load the screenshot in the message if the requested content is not directly shareable.

Siri will ask you after the material has loaded to be sure you want to transmit it. Say “Yes” or “No” to confirm. If you’d like, you may put a message in the available text box.

Say “Hey Siri, Call Contact Name>” to ask Siri to call a specific contact.

It will confirm by presenting you with choices if you have more than one contact name by name or if you neglected to give the full contact name. You have the option of utilizing the position (for example, “first one,” “second name,” etc.) or the last name (if applicable). Then, to start a call, say “Call” or hit the “Call” button.

Say “Hey Siri, set an alarm for 7 AM tomorrow/remind me to review documents at 3 PM today/set a timer for 8 minutes” and Siri will do the desired action.

Simply saying “Hey Siri, hang up the call” to Siri will allow you to end a call. Keep a note, though, as the other caller will be able to hear it.

Additionally, if you ever need a fast reminder of what Siri can do for you, just ask her, “Hey Siri, what you can do for me,” and she will open a link where you can read about all of her skills.

That’s it for now, folks. Using the advice above, you may quickly ask Siri to carry out a few chores while your hands are busy with other activities.
